Автор: Александр Он родился в Испании и при рождении получил имя Родриго. Его матерью, носившей имя Иоанны Борджиа, была особа развратная и легкомысленная. Считается, что законный супруг Иоанны, зная о многочисленных изменах жены, не признал родившегося сына своим, а вскоре и вовсе ушел от жены. Так, вместо фамилии Ленсуоли, мальчик получил фамилию Борджиа, ставшую одной из самых скандальных в истории.
Когда он подрос, то покинул родную Испанию и отправился в Рим, где в то время занимал высокую должность его дядя. Сначала Родриго и не думал стать церковником, мечтая о карьере юриста или адвоката, а спустя некоторое время и вовсе выбрав военную службу. У обаятельного и остроумного юноши появились любовницы, многие из которых являлись супругами самых богатых и влиятельных господ столицы. Но как бы много ни насчитывалось любовниц у Родриго Борджиа, связи с которыми были так мимолетны, что он даже не помнил имен своих пылких подруг, единственной женщиной, которой удалось надолго привязать его к себе, стала красавица Роза Ваноцци. Еще в юности, когда в Валенсии будущий папа завел любовную связь с Еленой Ваноцци, которую в то время подозревали в убийстве мужа, он не мог и предположить, что пройдет совсем немного времени и его пламенные взоры падут на младшую дочь любовницы — прекрасную, юную Розу. Та, всегда казавшаяся скромной и немногословной, на самом деле была достаточно коварна и злопамятна. Решив отомстить собственной матери за смерть любимого отца девушка попыталась это сделать при помощи Родриго, который уже давно оказывал знаки внимания двадцатилетней красавице. Намекнув любовнику матери на то, что и она, Роза, готова, щедро отблагодарить его, девушка рассказала ему о своем плане. Борджиа, страстно желавший внимания прелестной особы, раздумывать долго не стал. Пользуясь приготовленным ядом, который убивал неугодных будущему папе людей, Родриго и в этот раз подсыпал отравленную смесь своей стареющей любовнице, а когда та на следующее утро неожиданно скончалось, вряд ли кто-то заподозрил архиепископа в убийстве. Так или иначе, а Роза свое слово сдержала, став очередной подругой Родриго Борджиа, которому было суждено прожить с ней в Валенсии долгих семь лет. Когда в 1458 году папа Каликст Ш доживал последние дни, он успел вызвать любимого племянника в Рим и отдать распоряжение о назначении его кардиналом. Родриго в то время исполнилось двадцать пять лет. Получив кардинальскую мантию, он стал правой рукой нового папы. Теперь многие вопросы решались через него, а хитрый юноша продолжал вести умную, просчитанную до деталей, политическую игру. Каждому папе (а их сменилось пять) кардинал непременно демонстрировал преданность, а за это папы не только приближали его к себе, но и прощали хитрому развратнику богохульство и порочный образ жизни. Все знали, что в доме Борджиа каждую ночь устраивают оргии, на которые собираются самые известные куртизанки страны, чтобы ублажить ненасытного кардинала. Однако о любимой Розе Родриго не забывал. Та не верила, что ее любовник, не отличавшийся особой верностью, вспомнит ее и пригласит к себе в Рим. Сначала их порочная связь оставалась в строгой тайне, однако когда об этом узнала Роза, Родриго, не желая отказываться от прелестной Лукерции, устроил своей бывшей любовнице брак с богатым итальянским сеньором. Так Роза навсегда ушла из жизни Родриго, аа ее место заняла новая красавица, родная дочь папы, Лукерция. Она не только завладела сердцем папы, но и совершала слишком дерзкие поступки. Так, девушка часто появлялась в папском дворце, подписывала бумаги, раздавала указания кардиналам и вела себя достаточно уверенно. Роль любовницы собственного отца ее, как казалось, вполне устраивала. Тот несколько раз выдавал дочь замуж, но отказаться от порочной связи с прелестной Лукерцией не мог и после этого. Говорили, что она даже родила ребенка, которого Родриго признал своим. Когда в 1492 году умер папа Иннокентий VIII, новым папой стал Родриго Борджия, которого назвали папой Александром VI. Шестидесятилетний кардинал, став главой католической церкви, дал обет безбрачия, однако изменять своим пристрастиям не пожелал. Богатый, знатный и сластолюбивый, он продолжал очаровывать молоденьких красавиц и проводил с ними все ночи. В конце лета 1503 года, пригласив к себе близких кардиналов, папа устроил роскошный ужин, где решил отравить неугодных церковников и заменить тех на новых. Однако нерадивый слуга, которому было поручено наливать гостям отравленное вино, налил папе из того же сосуда. If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of «neighbors» will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune «Social» is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
